Lisa is a native of Eastover, South Carolina.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1995.  Lisa attended the University of South Carolina School of Law as a Merit Scholarship Recipient and graduated in 1998.Upon graduation from Law School, Lisa worked as a staff attorney for Carolina Regional Legal Services providing legal assistance to indigent clients in the areas of housing, consumer and family law.  Lisa relocated to Charleston, South Carolina in April of 1999 and served as an Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit (Charleston & Berkeley Counties).  Lisa has also worked as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law at Trident Technical College Palmer Campus in Charleston, South Carolina.  Prior to moving back to the Columbia area, Lisa was the owner of the Law Offices of Lisa Long Cotten in North Charleston, South Carolina where she concentrated on criminal defense, personal injury, workers’ compensation and family law.Lisa is a member of the South Carolina Bar, where she serves on the Fee Dispute Committee and Young Lawyers Division.  She is also a member of the Richland County Bar and American Bar Association.  Lisa has also been duly initiated into Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.   Lisa joined the Mike Kelly Law Group in August of 2006.  Lisa’s practice areas include Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, Criminal Defense and Family Law.
